Apologies if I'm only supposed to focus on Wine gaming here, but I installed PoL for the first time and am just going through its interface. I can see options for quite a few games. However there is a huge section for GOG games, but at the same time there are games that are available on GOG but not listed specifically in the GOG section. So eg, Dragon Age Origins is available on GOG and PoL. But under GOG games there is no Dragon Age Origins option. So can I use the GOG Dragon Age game?Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm so sorry to bother you, I know I'm asking for something outside your purview, but was wondering if you had any clue as to what was going on.I was following the FO3 guide. I've run into hiccups when choosing which packages to install.A few times I've tried to be clever and pick some contemporary packages (eg instead of POLInstallmsvc80 I choose POLInstallmsvc100). However it always causes a crash of some sort. This time I tried following instructions verbatim but still experienced an error (screenshot ).
Is this a common error and easy to resolve?. Thank you; I really do appreciate it.I'm trying to install the GOG version of FO3.I'm running Kubuntu, so I installed PoL available in the repositories (4.2.12).
The Wine versions available there only go up to 3.20. There are no versions labeled as staging, except 3.10 on the 64-bit version (as an aside, I also insatlled the 64 bit version of 3.20; however I was sure to create a 32-bit virtual drive per the walkthrough.I'm not sure if this is relevant information but just sharing it in case). So I picked the 3.20 version. I'll try 3.19 and let you know if it changes anything.Edit:So when creating a virtual drive, it asks which version of Wine do you want to use, I get an option called System, and then whichever version of Wine I have installed.I have tried System, 3.20, and 3.19, and they all give me the same errorEdit 2:FInal update for tonight: So yeah, I get the exact same error with each attempt. I'm sure this si redundant, but this is the error message after I hit cancelError in POLDownloadResourceMD5 sum mismatch! (1 attempt). I suggest updating your version of PlayOnLinux.
The newest verion was released only a few weeks ago and now you can download newer staging versions of Wine.PlayOnLinux 4.3.3I never use the 'system' version. I always download the newest one first. So can you launch the game with 'Debug' instead of 'Run' This way a window will appear and output errors. 32-bit virtual drive and Wine versions are fine with Fallout 3. It only runs in 32-bit anyways. There must be something missing. Are you able to play any other GOG games in PlayOnLinux?.
For many of us who are extremely happy with the fact that Origins is now backwards compatible, there's an issue that I've come across.I bought Origins as the Ultimate Edition, where there is Origins on one disc and then there's a second one filled with all of the DLCs.The issue that I'm running into is that my XboxOne is recognizing the DLC disc as the Origins disc and I cannot download any DLCs off the disc. If I go into the store it's asking me to buy everything even though my account, on Xbox 360, will recognize thatI do have these DLCs already. So what can I do or can something be done? Hi KingdomsPath, I had the same issue as you but eventually found a way to resolve it. Install the game using Disc 1, quit game after installation.
Insert Disc 2 and go to the Game Hub, and download each applicable DLC from the Add Ons list:. Witch Hunt.
The Stone Prisoner. Warden'so Keep. Return to Ostagar. DA: Awakening. the Golem's of Amgarrak.
Leliana's SongThere are a few more DLCS for in-game items. Note that not all DLCs can be downloaded. The last part is important, load the game using Disc 2 only. Launch the game and look under Downloadable Content, it should have all the DLCS marked as downloaded. Ifnot, exit and quit game app.
Then go to your 'My games & apps' page and under QUEUE it should list your recentry installed DLCs. Load DA:O Awakenings and that should force load it.
